  • Condition: Condition typical of a 130 year old card that was soaked out of a Victorian Scrap Book. Very good, light corner and edge wear. Some glue residue stains on reverse.

    At auction is a trade card advertising Hand Sapolio Toilet & Bath Soap. Front of card shows the prize winning (at last Paris Art Exhibition) statuette "Ange Deschu". A cardboard replica could be obtained by sending five engravings cut from the tin foil wrappers of  Sapolio.
