    Offered for sale is an 1887 Victorian brochure style trade card with an 1888 saints' calendar inside, for Savon des Princes du Congo, by Vaissier Freres, Paris, and a bonus soap bar label.
    The three brothers (Victor, Bernard & Alphonse) took over their father's soap business, founded in 1851, and renamed it Vaissier Freres in 1878. Victor bought out his brothers in 1888 and ran the business to huge success until 1923 when he passed away.
    The card measures, when closed, 3.25 by 2.5 inches (8.5 x 6 cm). The label measures about 5 by 4 inches (12.5 x 10 cm). Please enlarge pictures for best view of condition.
